Acroploro is the ideal place to stay, for those who seek their own private space at beautiful Galaxidi, combining traditional architecture with modern comforts. It is located at one of the most beautiful and traditional sceneries of Greece, at the wonderful Galaxidi, where we chose to build our family business, the place where our roots began. Galaxidi, is the naval town standing proud of the Corinthian Gulf and more specifically in the Locric ancient city Chalaion renamed Oianthi. Very close for days trips or excursion are: Delphi, Arachova, Parnassos and Nafpaktos.
The purpose is to have a different way of accommodation, simple and natural, so to make you feel that you are in your own cottage. Ideal to meet the needs of a family, group of friends or passers holidaymakers for a weekend or for several days. Even for individual excursion in company with music, computer, iPhone or book. A pleasant stay, different from the usual hotels and the rented rooms. With a very gracious hostess who takes care on everything before the guests even think about the comforts of paying great attention to detail, continually improving the service and facilities of the accommodation.
The surroundings of the Greek nature along with the interior decoration of the apartments, which have been made with care, make the perfect environment for your relaxation throughout your stay. The official discreet symbol of the ship
It resembles to a woman or a mermaid figure, carved or painted and it was put on the edge of the ships bow, mostly on sailboats, to send away the big waves and to purify the bad omens for our sailor’s journeys. The reason of its place on the ships bows was to give strength and protection to the crew, while it also symbolized the acquisition of wealth and riches from their journeys.
The sailors believed that it was the ships personification. It was the wooden ships decoration, the sailor’s companion, but also their guide to victorious battles.
A very significant secular art of our marine tradition. (It is found at the Nautical Museum of Galaxidi and it is worth a visit)
